Here I am with my usual back-to-school illness.
I am confused by the people who keep claiming snow is a big surprise, that it never snows in Vancouver. Admittedly, yes, it snows rarely. But almost every year, for a period that is usually one to three days in length, we get snow. Almost every January. Yet people keep insisting that it doesn't snow here.
Perhaps they are forgetting. This would explain why -despite the fact it snows almost every year- people can't drive in the snow.
